Sandra Jones

Sandra Sturges Jones, 66, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EST on Thursday December 27, 2018 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Brad McDaniel officiating.  A private interment will follow Friday morning, December 28, 2018 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Phenix City.

Sandra was born July 8, 1952 in Phenix City, AL to the late General Julius Sturges and Edna Gray Jones Sturges.  She was a giving and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who cherished and loved her family.  She enjoyed crafts, church, family, and was a huge fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.  She was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church, and had a very special bond with her grandson, Justin.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry H. Sturges, and Raymond K. Sturges, daughter, Misty Eldridge Crawford, and grandson, Kristan Blake Dozier.

She is survived by loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Richard Calvin Jones, Jr., two daughters, Brenda K. Jones Bolser, and Philece Lynn, son, Richard C. Jones, III, sister, Shirley S. Danford and husband Joseph; (5) grandchildren, Michael Taylor Williams, Cameron Kyle Jones, Dustin Michael Jones, Justin Noah Jones, and Brittany Ann McClung, several great grandchildren, numerous other loving family members, church family, and many caring friends.
