Sandra Thalia Harper “Granny” Monday, 69 of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday, February 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Elbert Ward and Bro. Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends this evening (Wednesday) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Prather, Tony Smith, Marcus Reitzammer, Jason Gilchrist, Carl Hopson and Leon Watson; serving as honorary pallbearers are Levice Bryan, Rex Reddish, Kyle Butler, Ben Hardy and Misty White. Ms. Monday was born February 22, 1944 in Chipley, FL to the late O K Harper and Ruby Lee Chance. She had served as a caregiver for Phenix City Health Care and was a member of Bush Road Assembly of God. She was known as Granny to her family and her many friends at JR's Steak House in Smiths Station. Granny loved people, gardening and studying her Bible. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lorrie Brooke Tucker and her step-mom, Susie Harper. She is survived by her children, Angelia Tucker, Anita Tucker, Alvin Tucker, Calvin Tucker and wife Connie, all of Phenix City, AL and Shelley Silva of Chicago, IL; one sister, Phyllis Nicholson and husband Jeff of Phenix City, AL and one brother, Sonny Harper and wife Donna of Pensacola, FL. (12) Grandchildren, Nikki Harrell (Bob), Brooke Tucker, Amber Day (Heath), Brad Tucker, Brittany Mangum (Justin), Joel Tucker, Lance Tucker, Jordan Tucker, Lexi Tucker, Blake Tucker, Anthony Silva and Amanda Silva, (13) great grandchildren, numerous extended family members and host of friends.
