Sara Bernice Franklin, 92, of Salem, AL, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside service for Mrs. Franklin will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 at Vance Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Franklin was born on July 25, 1923, in Phenix City, AL, the daughter of James Clarence Boyett and Earlene Alford Boyett. She was a teacher for many years before opening Artistic Innovations with her husband and running the business with her family. Family was at the center of Mrs. Franklin’s life sharing time with them on the property where they all lived. She was also a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Homer Franklin, Sr.
She is survived by her son Homer Franklin, Jr and wife Debra; grandchildren, Scott Franklin and wife Carrie and Kristi Willis and husband Troy; great-grandchildren, James Tyler Franklin, Michael Ryan, Courtney Ryan and Hunter Ryan; sister, Loretta Montgomery; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
