Sara Frances McMichael Williams, 93, of Smiths Station, AL passed away early Saturday morning, March 5, 2016 in the comfort of her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Olivia Reneau officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Williams was born September 14, 1922 in Newnan, GA to Ottice Monroe McMichael and Mattie Lizzie Wilson McMichael. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church since 1946. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, cooking, watching her two favorite programs, NCIS and the Walton’s, and family time. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, J W. Williams, siblings, Russell McMichael, Doris Howard, David McMichael, and Frank McMichael.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Hunt and husband Joe, Ann Wright and husband Raymond, both of Phenix City, AL, and Judy Moulton and husband Jeff of Panama City Beach, FL, sister, Martha Chastain and husband Felton of Marietta, GA, sisters-in-law, Rena McMichael of Newnan, GA, Connie McMichael of Jacksonville, FL, Helen Williams of Phenix City, AL, and Maude Long of Harvest, AL; grandchildren, Chris Hudson (Diana), Rodney Hudson (Nichole), Kevin Hudson (Tara), Jenn Denney (Wayne), and James Moulton, great grandchildren, Kaleigh Simmons (Taylor), Erica Hudson, Cody Hudson, Dalton Hudson, Kyle Hudson, Dylan Hudson, Madison Hudson, Stella Moulton, Lily Grace Denney, and Isabella Faith Denney, one great great grandchild, Addison Rayne Simmons, and a host of nieces and nephews.
