Sara Lee Norris Jesek, 82, of Smiths Station, AL died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 07, 2024, while at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Friday, October 11, 2024, in Lakeview Memory Gardens with family members sharing memories according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the funeral home.

Sara was born June 21, 1942, in Elba, AL daughter of the late Clifton Norris and Bonnie Faye Crawley Norris. Sara was a member of First Evangelistic Church where she was part of the kitchen ministry. Sara loved to garden and tend to her yard, she enjoyed growing flowers and looking at them as she woke up in the morning. Her flowers would bring birds and Sara and Sally enjoyed watching all the animals come and visit her garden. They especially liked the visitors her bird feeder would welcome. Sara has a huge fig tree in her yard. Sara would use the figs to make preserves to share with family and friends. Sara used cooking as a way to tell those around her that she loves them. Sara loved to visit places like Panama City and walk along the water as she listened to the waves roll in and out. Fishing was also another favorite past time for her.

We will remember her as making friends easily and always offering to help someone in need. These are values that we will continue to model in our lives.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Daniel L. “Dan” Jesek, Smiths Station, AL; two daughters, Tracy Sandra Jesek Manuell and Tammy Darlene Jesek Turner; two sisters, Nella Wayne Horner and Mary Evyline Wells; “sister friend”, Diane Jenkins Horne; four grandchildren, Lane Turner, Ronnie Manuell (Alyssa), Ashley Manuell, and Clifton Manuell (Alana); two great-grandchildren, Haven and Lucas and one on the way, Iris; special cousins, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She also is survived by Sally, her beloved dog.
