Sara Louise Adams, 82, of Maylene, AL, entered her heavenly home on January 1, 2025. A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL 36867, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 12:00 pm (EST) followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm (EST). Services will conclude after a procession to Lakeview Memory Gardens for a committal service.
Louise Adams was born in Phenix City, AL, on July 29, 1942, to the late Virginia and Harold Kennedy. Louise obtained her master’s degree and retired as a teacher at Westhills Elementary after 32 years. Louise loved children, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed life with her partner of 34 years, Buddy, and especially looked forward to seeing him every weekend. Louise loved flowers and tending to her garden. She enjoyed dogs, going to the river, and her bunco friends. She was a volunteer at the Shelby County Hospital and was passionate about helping those in need, even if it was just putting a smile on their face. Most of all Louise loved her family. She stayed close to her children and involved in their lives. Louise will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Louise Adams was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Newsome Kennedy and Harold Curtis Kennedy. Sara is survived by her life partner, Larry “Buddy” Stillwell; son, Stanley E. Adams III (Dina); daughters, Sharon Ann Adams, Stephanie Long (Charles), and Stacey Duffey (Richard); sister, Betty Burrows; brother, John Kennedy; and grandchildren, Katrina, Cory, Trey, Stanley, Ashley, Mitchell, Andrew, Tyler, and Sam.
