Sara Pauline Alexander

Sara Paula Alexander, 84, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Oxton Place of Green Island in Columbus, GA.  A graveside service  will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 20 Ga Highway 315, Fortson, GA  on Friday, August 19, 2016 beginning at 3:00 PM EST with Pastor Emory Alexander officiating.  Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA is in charge of the arrangements.     

Ms. Alexander was born October 7, 1931  in Geneva, AL to the parents of the late James C. Jackson and Ola Mae Whittle Jackson. She was a lifetime member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.  She worked and retired as a Registered Nurse.  She also enjoyed canning and gardening. 

Other than her parents Ms. Alexander, is predeceased by her husband, Robert Earl Alexander; her son, Ronald Dale Braxton, Sr.; and three brothers:  Kenneth Spann of Eustis, FL, Joe Jackson of Apopka, FL and Levon Spann.

Her survivors include three grandchildren:  Ronald Dale Braxton Jr. (Amber) of Columbus, GA, Nick Braxton of Fortson, GA and Heather Braxton of FL; and three great grandchildren:  Mason, Dawson and Jacoby Braxton.
