Sarah Ramona Thornton

Sarah Ramona Thornton, 87, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at her residence in Columbus, GA.  A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2016  at Parkhill Cemetery with Debra PenМѓa officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 12:00PM -2:00 PM EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home 4048 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Mrs. Thornton was born March 10, 1929 in Rosedale, MS to the late Herbert H. Tuten and Rebecca Lynn.  She was a member of North Highland Assembly of God.  She was a homemaker.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Thornton is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Henry Clarence Thornton.

Survivors include her daughters:  Shirley Snellgrove Vannoy (Jim) of Pocono Lake, PA and  Ruth Thornton of Columbus, GA; a son, Henry Clarence Thornton, Jr. (Bertha) of Columbus, GA; brothers:  Arthur A. Tuten and William H. Tuten; a sister, Loraine Gitting of  FL; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and ten great, great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends.
