Sarah Rownes Truett

Sarah Rownes Truett, 75, of Columbus, GA passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her residence in Columbus.  A visitation will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. EST. 

Mrs. Truett was born August 17, 1941 in Cedartown, GA to the late Charlie Gilley and Josephine Jordan Gilley.  She was retired from the Civil Service as a Chief Financial Officer after thirty-one years.

Other than her parents, Ms. Truett is predeceased by two brothers, Van Gilley and Leonard Gilley.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, William Floyd Truett; one son, Robert Charles Truett (Penny) of Columbus, GA; two sisters:  Shirley Hopkins of Cedartown, GA and Lillian Donaldson of Roopville, GA; three grandchildren:  Kristopher Michael Truett, Krysten Michelle Pate and Casey Truett; one great grandchild, Xander Truett; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be forever missed.
