Scottie E. Fortune, 58, of Columbus, GA, passed away on March 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL 36867. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL 36867 with Pastor Andy Stinson officiating.
Scottie Fortune was born on September 18, 1966, to the late Brenda Carden and David E. Fortune. After graduating high school, he became a gifted car salesman and worked for Bill Heard III for many years. He was known as Scottie Too Hottie because of his charismatic personality and sense of humor. Scottie enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves and Auburn Tigers. He loved fishing, and most of all loved his children and grandchildren. He was a faithful and loving husband to his wife, Jodie, for over 37 years and was a devoted child of God. Scottie will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Scottie is preceded in death by his parents, Brenda Carden and David E. Fortune; stepfather, Billy Carden; and grandparents, Darlene and William Fortune.
Scottie is survived by his wife, Jodie Fortune; children, Alexus Fortune (Jafed Gonzalez), Scottie “Hunter” Fortune (Maggie), and David Fortune (Kasey); brothers, Danny E. Fortune and Shannon E. Fortune (Michelle); sisters, Billie Jean Hutto, and Deborah Kimbrough; grandchildren, Scarlett-Rose Gonzalez, Josiah David “JoJo” Fortune, Scottie Luke Fortune, and Payton Elizabeth Fortune; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
