Sfc (Ret) Frederick Robert Miller, Jr

SFC(Ret) Frederick R. Miller, Jr., 78, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at Columbus Specialty Hospital.

A service will be held at 12pm Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Crawford Road Baptist Church and will include military honors. A private burial will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. Arrangements are through Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City.

Mr. Miller was born January 4, 1940 in Constable, NY to the late Fred and Margaret Miller. He proudly served and retired from the US Army, earning the rank of SFC. He was a member Crawford Road Baptist Church and loved caring for his church family. He will be missed by his family that he loved and adored. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Annie L. Miller and a sister, Elizabeth Carlin.

He is survived by his companion, Maurine; children, Fred Robert Miller III of Columbus, GA, Donna Baker of Malone, NY, Elizabeth Lassitor (David) of Albany, GA and Johanna Lord (Don) of Hyde Park, NY; sister, Ethel Bennor of Malone, NY; brother, Herbert Miller of Malone, NY; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several extended family members and friends.
