Sfc (Ret.) Philip James Guyette

April 23, 1939 — August 4, 2016

SFC (Ret.) Philip James Guyette, 77, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, August 04, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 08, 2016 beginning at 6:00 P.M. EST with Brother Lee Parsons officiating.  The committal service will be held at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 beginning at 1:00 P.M. EST.  The family will receive friends Sunday, August 07, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Mr. Guyette was born April 23, 1939 in Springfield, MA  to the parents of the late Robert H. Guyette and Isabella McLeish Guyette.  He proudly served his country and retired from the United States Army with 21 years of service, in which he also served during the Vietnam War.   He was an “all-around” outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed spending time at Shooters of Columbus for his target practice.

Other than his parents, Mr. Guyette is predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 45 years, Patricia Gail Guyette; two daughters:  Kristina Diaz (Steven) and Nicole Guyette, both of Columbus, GA; three sons:  Bruce Guyette of Columbus, GA, Jimmy Sepulvado (Trisha) of Citrus Heights, CA, and Kevin Pittman (Tonya) of Douglasville, GA;  two sisters:  Karen Dion and Leslie Rickson, both of Indian Orchard, MA; nine grandchildren:  Isabella Diaz, Jacob Guyette, MariAna Huling, Lindsey Dunn, Autumn Pittman Street, Adrian Pittman (Marij, wife), Zachary Pittman, Jamie Sepulvado and A.J. Sepulvado; and 10 great grandchildren:  Gracie Street, Gavin Street, Gabriel Street, Chloe Pittman, Layla Pittman, Kristen Williams, Hannah Williams, Savannah Williams, David Williams and Richard Williams.
