Sfc Ret Rafton Fletcher Floyd

US Army Ret. SFC Rafton F. Floyd, 76, of Seale, AL passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Kindred Hospice in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EST Monday, October 30, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Richie Ashburn officiating.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm EST Sunday evening at the funeral home.

SFC Floyd was born April 17, 1941 in Crenshaw County, AL, the son the late Willie Floyd and Clercie Carlisle Floyd.  He retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service.  During his career, SFC Floyd bravely served three tours of duty in Vietnam.  He enjoyed bowling and being outdoors hunting and fishing.  However, his greatest love was his wife, children and grandchildren. 

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Robert Floyd; two sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Baughn Floyd of Seale, AL; one daughter, Teresa Floyd Kauffman and husband Michael of Phenix City, AL; one son, Eddie Floyd and wife Brenda of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Erma Beaman and Sue Ann Leis and husband Gary, all of Winter Haven, FL; one brother, Ramon Floyd of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Maxwell, Ragan and Jared; numerous extended family members and many caring friends.
