SFC (Retired) Charles Coker Dunn, 86, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA
Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held 11:00 am EST Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Ben Hewitt officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside service.
Mr. Dunn was born July 30, 1930 in Clayton, AL to the late William Coker Dunn and Clemie Edwards Dunn. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator most of his life and retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service. He loved the outdoors and he loved the opportunity to go fishing every chance he got. He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Salem, AL. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Charles Dunn, four sisters, Lucille, Henrietta, Margaret, and Sarah, and two brothers, John and Bo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Ruth Jackson Dunn, and three sons, Charles L. Dunn, James “Michael” Dunn, and Steven Dunn, all of Phenix City, AL; (10) grandchildren, (14) great grandchildren, and (9) great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
