SFC (Retired) Mack Alexander Perry, Jr., 87, of Salem, AL passed away late Wednesday night, October 29, 2014 at the Bethany Hospice House in Auburn, AL. Memorial services with full Military Honors will be held 5:00 pm EDT Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Ivy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at a later date. Mr. Perry was born May 25, 1927 in Marshall, TX to Mack Alexander Perry, Sr. and Dorothy Hutchins. He was retired from the United States Armed Forces serving both the United States Air Force and United States Army during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed watching old western movies, collecting coins, and fishing. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Beatrice Cook Perry and two sisters, Gladys and Lynn. He is survived by a daughter, Soundra Kirkland of Manassas, VA and a son, John Perry and wife Wanda of Salem, AL, sisters, Marie Beauxe and Maxine Bass, both of Baton Rouge, LA, one brother, Mack “Buckwheat” Perry and wife Arlene of Baton Rouge, LA Three grandchildren, Melanie Morton (Randy), Bethany Roark (Michael), and Heather Sheffield, five great grandchildren, Ryan, Austin, Andrew, Joshua, and Emily, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions are request to the Wounded Warriors Program in memory of SFC Retired Mack Perry
