SFC (Ret) James Michael Ferraro, 77, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully early Friday morning, February 7, 2025, at Arabella Healthcare in Phenix City, AL

Mr. Ferraro was born February 15, 1947, in Minneapolis, MN, son of the late Anthony Ferraro and Isabelle Smith Ferraro. He was employed as a supervisor for the Civil Service at Anniston Army Depot and Fort Bliss, Texas. He served our country honorably and was a Veteran of the United States Army retiring after many years of loyal service. He was the recipient of numerous awards and medals. He enjoyed playing card games, poker, watching TV, sports, loved the outdoors, and was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He was a man of great character who loved all his family deeply. He was a Catholic by faith.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Kim Ferraro Anker, and two brothers, Ricky Ferraro and Tony Ferraro.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Pyeong Cheon Ferraro of Smiths Station, AL; one daughter, Anna Ferraro of Smiths Station, AL; son Robert Ferraro (Jennifer) of El Paso, TX; two sisters, Kathleen Tholkes and Karen Brown (Harry), both of Minneapolis, MN; two brothers, Michael Ferraro (Tammy) of Andover, MN, and Tom Ferraro of Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Jan Ferraro of Circle Pines, MN; four grandchildren, Caitlin Ferraro, Nathan Ferraro, Brendon Ferraro, and Aaron Ferraro; one precious great grandson, Zion Ferraro; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many caring friends.

His family is planning a Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors in his hometown church in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. A day and time is to be respectfully announced according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL
