Sfc(Ret.) Joseph Charles Geier

SFC(Ret.) Joseph Charles Geier, 73, of Seale, AL, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home.

A graveside service will be held 2:30 pm EST Monday, May 8, 2017 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, at Vance Memorial Chapel, then travel in procession to the cemetery.

Joe was born September 7, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA, son the late Stephen R. Geier and Saphronia Marie Britton Geier.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War before retiring with 20 years service. Joe then began a career with the Phenix City School System maintenance department eventually retiring from there also. 

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters Patricia Kay Geier and Amy Lynn Ledford-Stephens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Patricia Ann Geier; 3 daughters, Letha Hudgens of Phenix City, Mary “Terri” Armstrong and husband Danny of Cadiz, KY and Jeanette “Jenny” Batz and husband Greg of Alaska; brother Stephen Richard Geier, Jr. of Canton, OH; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; several extended family members and caring friends.
