Shawn Melvin Marshall

November 18, 1971 – July 5, 2016

Midland, GA- Shawn passed away unexpectedly in a vehicle accident on the early morning of July 5th.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Saturday, July 16, 2016 beginning at 10:00 AM EST with Reverend Bob Hawkins officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 US 431, Phenix City, AL.  The family will receive friends Friday, July 15, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Shawn was born in Altoona, PA.  He went to high school in Heidelberg, Germany and later received his diploma after coming back to the U.S.  Shawn worked in New Orleans and then in the casinos of Las Vegas.  He returned to the Fort Mitchell area where he met his wife, Diane.  He worked for Florida Rock and Tank Lines, Inc. as a truck driver.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Melva Marshall and his grandparents, Melvin and Gladys Miller.

Shawn is survived by his wife, Diane, and their two beautiful girls, Megan and Sierra; father, James (Rocky); brother, James Jr. (Della), Uncle Craig (Coralee); aunts, Aunt Dar (Allen) of Harrisburg, PA and Aunt Sandy (Ben) of Claysburg, PA; in-laws, William and Patricia Jordan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shawn enjoyed all sports, but he was the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan in the world.  The only thing that came before his love for the Steelers was his family.

Shawn was a loving father, husband, son, and brother.  He will be forever loved, truly missed, and thought about every day.  We love you so much, Shawn!
