Shelton E. Smith

Shelton Eudtte Smith, 79, of Seale, AL passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Steve Vann and Pastor Thomas Ray officiating.  A private interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Cottonton, AL.  The family will receive friends at the funeral service on Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Smith was born March 8, 1937 in Henry County, AL to the late Shelby D. Smith and Bertha May Bradley Smith.  He had worked as a carpenter most of his life.  He enjoyed church fellowship and playing his guitar.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Ann Caldwell Smith, several brothers and sisters, and a granddaughter, Evelyn Smith.

He is survived by his children, Shelton Ray Smith and wife Linda, Sheila Thomas and husband Chris, and Rhonda Kim Smith, sisters, Betty Biggs, Mary Agnes Milner, and Becky Maxwell; grandchildren, Jessica Diane Smith, Amber Mullen (Brook), Shannon Catrett (John), Colby Thomas, and Hunter Blake Smith, great grandchildren, John David Catrett, IV, Averleigh Leann Catrett, and DeVeroux Aleczander Mullen, numerous other family members, and many friends.
