Sherry Ann Cannon Trant

Sherry Ann Cannon Trant, 61, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 in the comfort of her home. Graveside services with Police and Firefighter Honors will be held 10:00 am EDT Friday, May 29, 2015 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Skip Speed officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home. Sherry was born July 12, 1953 in Phenix City, AL to the late Melvin Floyd Cannon and Patsy Ruth Cummings Cannon. She was employed as Police dispatcher with City of Phenix City and also served as a firefighter for the Phenix City Fire Department. Sherry enjoyed watching TV, especially her QVC program, spending quality time with family and friends, and loved her pet dogs. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Edward “Ed” Trant and an infant grandchild. She is survived by her daughter, Leighanne Deen of Smiths Station, AL one very special grandchild, Alivia Hopkins, special cousins, Diane Boswell, Marshall “Jackie” Cannon, her loving caregivers, Dawn Hudson, Kelly Crookham, and Keila Stewart, loved as grandchildren, Meghan D'Arcy, Kaysee D'Arcy, Colt Stewart, and Ian Cook, and her beloved pet dogs, BJ and Weezy.
