Shirley Grier Maddox

Shirley Grier Maddox, 79, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Wednesday the January 10, 2018 at the Midtown Medical in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EST, on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Glenn Maddox, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Maddox was born on November 12, 1938, in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Curtis Grier and Johnny Pearl Hickman Grier. She enjoyed growing flowers, embroidery and caring for her family.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, LJ Maddox, daughter, Tracie Robinette, sister, Betty Cotton and brothers, Billy Grier and Curtis Grier.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Jackson husband Wendell and Lisa Corbitt husband Steve; son-in-law, Bill Robinette; grandchildren, Brandy, Jessica, Brittany, Crystal, Heather, Michael, Cory and Josh; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and many caring friends.
