Shirley Metcalf

Ms. Shirley Metcalf, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.

Ms. Metcalf was born March 24, 1944 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Archie G. Metcalf and Bobbie Ruth Carr Metcalf.  She proudly served her country in the United States Air Force.  Ms. Metcalf served in Vietnam Era before retiring from the Air Force after 20 years.  She was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).  Ms. Metcalf was a die hard Atlanta Braves fan and loved Alabama football.  She was a long time member of Forgiving Heart United Church of Christ.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Joyce Metcalf Williams and two brothers, James Lamar Metcalf and Robert Mack Metcalf.

She is survived by her special friends, whom she loved like daughters, Carmen Endres-French and Karren Endres-French of Phenix City, AL; as well as her Forgiving Heart Church Family.
