Mrs. Shirley Ann Smith

Mrs. Shirley Ann Richardson Smith, 83, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Southeast Health Care Center in Dothan, AL.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Smith was born April 1, 1937 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Robert Lincoln Richardson and Annie Lucille Grant Richardson.  She worked in the banking industry most of her career and retired as a Loan Originator at First AL Bank.  After retiring from the banking industry, her and a friend ran a house cleaning service.  Mrs. Smith enjoyed taking care of people and demonstrated her love for animals taking care of stray cats.  She was baptized in 1953 and remained a faithful as a Jehovah’s Witness and sharing the Bible, her whole life.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence K. Smith; a brother, Charles Kenneth Richardson and a sister, Annie Jean Carr.

She is survived by a daughter, Dana Goodwin and husband Mark of Phenix City, AL; two sons, David Michael Weathersby and wife Julie of Kenai, AK and Darrell Thomas Weathersby and wife Audrey of Midland, GA; a brother, James Robert Richardson and wife Linda of Franklin, GA; two grandchildren, Sasha Gardner and Nikolas Weathersby; a great-grandchild, C. J. Gardner; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
