Shirley June Massey Thomley

Shirley June Thomley, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away April 15,2024, at St. Francis Hospital. Shirley was born on June 2, 1939, in Blakely, Georgia, to her loving parents Elsie Lee "Jake" Massey and Mattie Lou Johnson Massey.
 

Throughout her life, Shirley touched the hearts of many with her fun-loving and kindhearted nature. She dedicated her career to being a Credit Union Manager at Tom Hughston Credit Union, where she excelled with grace and diligence. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves, and in her younger years, racing cars.
 

Other than her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her granddaughter Ashley Smith.

Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family members: daughter Janet Ross of Spring Hill, Florida; son Richard Dewayne Sink and his wife Shelley of Moro, Arkansas; sisters Linda Guerrero of Cataula, Georgia and Gracie Stewart of Lakeland, Florida; brother Lester Massey of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren Truman Ross, Tucker Ross, Ryan Flynn, and Tanner Flynn; great-grandchildren Grayson Romaine, Geordan Brewer, and Raelynn Ross.
 
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Thursday April 18th at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will take place on April 19th at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus starting at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
 
Shirley's warm presence and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace as her memory lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
