Sid Gleaton

Sid Gleaton, 70, of Fortson, GA passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.  A graveside service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 275 Antioch Church Road, Fortson, GA on Friday, November 17, 2017 beginning at 1:00 P.M. EST with Pastor Seth Carroll  officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA  from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Mr. Gleaton was born June 23, 1947 in Langdale, AL to the late James Cecil Gleaton and Margie Marie Gleaton.  He was a United States Veteran who served proudly in the United States Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.  He was currently employed at Terry’s Grocery as a butcher. He worked for over twenty years at Rainbow Foods.

Survivors include his loving best friend of fifteen years and wife of two years Patricia Dianne Gleaton; two sisters Kiwani Cogar (Mark) of Box Springs, GA and Jackie Ryba (Jim) of Comins, MI; two brothers Jerry Gleaton (Kathy) of Jacksonville, FL and Scott Grantham of AZ; and nieces and nephews:  Aimee Ingle (David) of Warner Robins, GA, Beth Jordan (Mitchell) of Box Springs, GA, Summer Cogar (Elizabeth) of Columbus, GA, Daryl Gleaton of Jacksonville, FL, and Brian Gleaton (Kelly) of Jacksonville, FL; as well as several great nieces and nephews.  Sid was a dedicated worker, loving husband, brother and uncle. He will forever be missed.
