Stephen Christopher Smith

Stephen Christopher Smith, 71, of Phenix City, AL died at St. Francis Hospital Friday, November 27, 2020 after a brief illness.
Stephen was born September 06, 1949 in Memphis, TN and was the son of Harold Smith and Joy Glass Smith. He served as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Phenix City, AL. Stephen was an elder with the Chattahoochee Valley Church of Christ. Wherever he lived, he dedicated his time to teaching children soccer and basketball.
Stephen was a proud graduate and supporter of the University of Memphis.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Carol Lynn Feathers Smith. He’s survived by his children, Stacy Smith Peeler (Curtis) and Clifford Smith; his siblings Holly Wolfe (David), Sherri Sheffield (Rev. Wayne), and Tricia Mahan (Jim), and two precious grandchildren, Carly Smith and Christopher Peeler.
He will be remembered as a loving and giving husband, dad, granddaddy, and friend.
A private memorial service will be held Sunday, December 6th, 2020 at his family property.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the youth ministry at Chattahoochee Valley Church of Christ in Columbus, GA.
