Steven Duffey, age 56, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2019. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Burke Memorial Park Cemetery, Morganton, North Carolina on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 1-2 p.m.
Mr. Duffey, son of Nana Carolyn Bridgers Duffey and the late Bouldin Wade Duffey, was born September 28, 1963 in Morganton, North Carolina. Steve began a working career in public relations and then worked with his brother an Anti-Terrorism Instructor. In the latter part of his life, Steve worked in the trucking industry. For many years, he had a strong passion for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle; loved classic cars; and enjoyed spending time with carpentry projects. Steve enjoyed spending quality time with his family and is remembered as a man of strong determination and strength.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Fannie Mae Duffey and maternal grandparents, Norman and Ruth Bridgers. He is survived by his mother, Nana Duffey of Phenix City, Alabama; sister, Pamela Baker of Columbus; two brothers, David Duffey of Phenix City, Alabama and John Duffey, Sr also of Phenix City, Alabama; two nieces, Stephanie Forston and her husband David and Erica Pless; five nephews, Ben Baker, Kayden Duffey and his wife Ronessa, John Duffey II, David Duffey II, and Arthur “AJ” Duffey; many other relatives and friends.
