Susan Dorrill Wheeler

February 26, 1937 — November 10, 2013

Susan Dorrill Wheeler of Phenix City, Ala. passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. She was born on Feb. 26, 1937 in a small town in Kansas. She was the youngest of three children of Ray L. and Annie Laura Morgan. She had such a sparkling personality. She loved dessert foods, daytime television shows Bonanza and Matlock, and laughter. The most important thing in her life was her family. The saying “if love could cure everything, there would be no death” best describes her and the love she had for her family. She was always there when someone needed her and even when they did not. Her smile was indescribable, and her laugh could brighten any person's day. She did countless charity work as a member of the Phenix City Shrinettes. To say “she will be missed” is truly an understatement. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Wheeler, her beautiful daughter Becky Hall, her thankful grandchildren Jacob Hall, Melissa Williams, Judy Chandler and Ashley Chandler, her amazing nieces Rosalyn Hestley and her family, Vickie Graves and her family, Penny Barksdale and her family, Laura Martin and her family, her outstanding nephew Richard Vitzen and his family, every friend she ever had (and there were many friends), and last but not least her loyal puppies Brownie Earl Bubba and Princess. She loved each and every one of you. She is now in a place where she can watch Matlock live in person any time she wants with no reruns. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, her funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. also at Vance with her funeral at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City.
