Susan Morris Parker

Susan Morris Parker, age 69, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, formerly of Smiths Station, Alabama, entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at her home in Tuscaloosa, surrounded by her closest loved ones.

Born on October 11, 1955, in Phenix City, Alabama, Susan was the beloved daughter of William and Abbie Morris. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. Susan was an active member of Church of the Highlands in Tuscaloosa, where she served as a greeter and participated in various church roles. Her faith was central to her life, and she found great joy in Bible studies and women’s ministries.

Susan loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, always putting their needs first. She enjoyed cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team and never missed an opportunity to visit Mexico Beach, Florida. She had a special fondness for cardinals and all things tropical. Known for her kindness and ability to connect with everyone she met, Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Parker; her parents, William and Abbie Morris; and her brothers, Greg Morris and Dennis Morris. 

Susan is survived by her daughters, Shea Stroud (Stephen) and Brooke Parker, both of Tuscaloosa; her grandchildren, Parker Stroud, Peyton Stroud, Paige Stroud, and Brock Chandler; her sister, Carol Sheppard (John); as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City on January 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM EST. The service will be held at 2:00 PM EST, with interment immediately following. The funeral home is located at 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL 36867.

Susan’s memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who were blessed to know her.
