Susan “Sue” Sims, 61, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL while surrounded by her family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm EST on Friday, July 2, 2021, in the chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Highway 431N in Phenix City, AL, with Rev. Grant Parker officiating.
Sue was born in Flint Michigan the daughter of the late Donald Christian Arndt, Sr. and her mother Ola Nancy Wilson McLeod. Sue later moved to Smiths Station, AL, where she met the late Malcom Fred Sims Sr., who was the love of her life. Sue enjoyed shopping, especially Christmas shopping, watching scary movies and The Waltons. She also enjoyed and was very good at cooking and baking. But most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her family.
Ms. Sims was preceded in death by her father Donald Christian Arndt, Sr. and her husband Malcom Fred Sims, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother Ola Nancy Wilson Arndt; one daughter Danielle Sims and her fiance’ David McArthur; two sons Malcom Fred Sims and Seth Sims and his wife Bridgette, all of Smiths Station, AL; six grandchildren Ryley Sims, Avery Sims, Bryce Sims, Jayden Jackson, Ian Sims; and Sawyer McArthur; her life-long friend Pam Goins; beloved pet Poulet and many extended family members.
