Terrence “Terry” Kiney

July 26, 1938 — November 20, 2020

Terrence F. Kiney died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Terry, as he was known, was born in Miami, FL, but spent the majority of his life in St. Petersburg, FL. As a young man he worked for Publix and served honorably in the Florida National Guard. He also worked for GTE of Florida as a lineman and later a dispatcher for 32 years. After retirement, he and his late wife, Eleanor, worked tirelessly as volunteers with Operation Christmas Child for 25 years.

He was a member of North East Park Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Terry was known for his quick smile and willingness to step in and help wherever needed. He was known and loved by many throughout the area.

Terrence was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances Kiney, brother Thomas Kiney, and his wife, Sarah Eleanor Kiney. He is survived by his daughters, Trish (Butch) Ross and Sarah (Timothy) Fary, niece Karyn (Rhett) Maughn, and grandchildren Malcolm Fary, Madeline Fary, Patrick Fary, and Eleanor (Ella) Wileman.

There will be a private family ceremony at a later date due to Covid-19. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Christmas Child.
