Thomas Earnest

Ralph Thomas Earnest, 62, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm (EST), Thursday, May 20, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home Phenix City, AL with Pastor Ken Dawson officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (EST), Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the funeral home.

Thomas was born on October 9, 1958, in Columbus, Georgia, the son of Ralph Earnest and Mary Helen Summers Fuller. He was the maintenance superintendent at Golden’s Foundry Machine Co. for over a decade. His favorite pastime was to watch his grandchildren play sports. He was a member of Cascade Hills Church and enjoyed volunteering there when he could. Thomas will always be remembered for the love of his family and his warm smile. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Thomas is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Helen Fuller and brother, Jimmy Earnest.

He is survived by his father, Ralph (Barbara) Earnest, daughter, Whitney (Jason) Shackelford; son, Ryan (Katie) Earnest; five grandchildren, Sydney Shackelford, Ashton Shackelford, David Mann, Millie Mann, Rhett Earnest; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
