Thomas Judson Matthews Jr.

Thomas Judson Matthews, Jr., 64, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his residence in Columbus.  A memorial service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Monday, November 21, 2016 beginning at 6:00 P.M. EST with Pastor Kennith Savage officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 5:00 P.M. EST.  

Mr. Matthews was born December 10, 1951 in Columbus, GA to the late Thomas Judson Matthews, Sr. and Corene Jones Matthews.  He worked for Swift Denim Textiles and retired as a Loom Tech Instructor after thirty-seven years of service.   He was die hard Auburn football fan. 

Survivors include his best friend, Annie Floyd of Columbus, GA; three daughters:  Shannon Monroe (Monte) of Pine Mountain, GA, Cindy Lynch (Chris) of Rockwall, TX, and Crystal Madison (Everett) of Salem, AL; two sons:  Stanley Sanders (Lisa) of Waverly Hall, GA and William Sanders of Columbus, GA; two sisters:  Cathy Brinson (Eddie) of Charleston, SC and Sue Holland of Charleston, SC; one brother:  Harry Allen Matthews of Columbus, GA; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
