Thomas Neill Howell, 91, of Hatchechubbee, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Howell was born October 25, 1926 in Phenix City, AL to Enoch Marvin Howell and Gertrude Lillian Field Howell. He was the co-owner of Howell Brothers Cabinet Construction. He had a special gift as a cabinet builder and wood craftsman. He loved flying fixed wing planes and was proud of his own personal plane and his air-strip on his farm. Mr. Howell was fascinated with joy of building model airplanes and radio control planes. He enjoyed spending time around his farm and sharing special moments with all his family. He served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a Baptist by faith and attended First Baptist Church of Hurtsboro. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Wright, and two brothers, Grover Marvin Howell, and Charles H. Howell.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, June Evelyn Holt Howell of Hatchechubbee, AL, two sons, Brian Howell and wife Judy of Eufaula, AL, and David Howell and wife Kelli of Opelika, AL; three granddaughter’s, Aledia Birdsong, Jennifer Howell, and Leigh Anna Howell, one precious great grandson, Tory Birdsong, and a host of other extended loving family members, the surrounding community, and many caring friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at his home on the family farm in Hatchechubbee on Saturday, July 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm CDT. Everyone is invited to celebrate his memories and share stories. The family will receive friends at his memorial service.
