Timothy John "Tim" Barber

Timothy John “Tim” Barber, 54, of Phenix City, AL died at his home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Gary Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Saturday.

Mr. Barber was born September 30, 1969 in Manchester, England son of Margaret Fryer Barber and the late Raymond Barber. He was a long-time and devoted chemical operator throughout the years, most recently serving as a Lead Chemical Operator for Sterling Chemical. Tim enjoyed golf, bass fishing, doing yard work, and cooking in his spare time. He was also an avid Alabama Football fan. Fall was his favorite time of year when he enjoyed game day with family and close friends. He always had a soft spot for animals, especially his beloved dog Toto and his current four cats: Max, Luna, Ollie, and Charlie. He loved to travel, explore new places, and especially enjoyed any activities near the water. Tim had a gentle soul but could easily fill a room with laughter with his quick wit and sense of humor.

His time with us was cut short, but we will forever cherish those special times in our hearts.

Survivors other than his mother, Margaret Fryer Barber, include his wife Marcy Jones Barber, Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Kayla Hart (Dylan) and Payton Green (Jonathan); five cherished grandchildren, Waylon, Gentry, Boone, Emerson, and Sadie; two stepdaughters, Jessica Moody and Rebecca Moody; one sister, Jane Barber and a sister-in-law, Cathy Edwards; two nephews, Kyle Britton and Hunter Brown; several other family members and friends.
