Tony Humphries

Tony Humphries, age 60, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Columbus Hospice House.  Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, February 28, 2020, 11 a.m. with Reverend Keith Nicholson officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Humphries, son of the late George Washington Humphries II and Eleanor Ann Hollis Humphries, was born June 15, 1959 in Carrollton, Georgia.  He was Baptist by faith, a humble, kind, and loving man.  Mr. Humphries enjoyed humor with others and watching movies.   Mr. Humphries was very skilled with his hands, always organized, and was an encourager to others.  He loved his family immensely and was an avid Alabama football fan.  The family remembers him as a God fearing man who would be there for anyone that needed a listener, a man of “unconditional love.”

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chet Humphries.  He is survived by a daughter, Lacy JoAnn Clark and her husband Jason of Rock Spring, Georgia; son, Shane Humphries and his wife Cara of Midland, Georgia; sister, Holly Humphries Napier and her husband John of Columbus, Georgia; brothers, Phil Humphries and his wife Lesley of Loganville, Georgia and Jeff Humphries and his wife Karen of Cataula, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, Reese, Taryn, Addison, Kailey, Abby, Lilly, Ellie, Joshua, Lunabelle, and Mason; two aunts, Wanda Gail Griffin and her husband Wayne of Phenix City and Rose Hunt, also of Phenix City, AL; former spouse and best friend, Sheri Luttrell of Smith Station, Alabama; other relatives and friends.
