Tonya M. Conrad

Tonya Mulkey Conrad, 72, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday afternoon, February 8, 2024, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Tonya was born May 7, 1951, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Bryant Mulkey, Sr. and Mary Watson Mulkey.  She served as a school bus driver for the Lee County School system for many years and enjoyed her responsibilities of keeping children safe each school year.  She enjoyed canning and cooking, and cherishing the simple things in life, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and all her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She was a Christian by her faith.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann White.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert “Bob” Conrad; our daughters, Tonya Joanna Johnson and husband Cody, Michele Smith and husband Jay, Cassandra Jean Jones and husband James, Jessica Conrad Preston, and husband Adam; one son, Robert James Conrad, and wife Jessica; one sister, Sherry Gray, and husband Vance; three brothers, Bryant H. Mulkey, Jr. and wife Sally, Wallace E. Mulkey and wife Susan, and Michael D. Mulkey and wife Denise; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many caring friends.

Her family plans to hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at the home of Mrs. Tonya Conrad where her life and memories will be honored by her loving family.
