Tsgt (Ret) William “Bill” Collier, Sr,

August 13, 1938 — June 10, 2020

TSGT (Ret) William “Bill” D. Collier, Sr., 81, of Cusseta, AL formerly of Ormand Beach, FL died peaceful at his residence on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.

 A Service of Remembrance will be held at a 3:00 PM (EST) on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his daughter home according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mr. Collier was born August 18, 1938 in Pulaski County, VA son of the late Edgar Lee Collier and Mary Lou Linkous Collier. He had retired from the U. S. Air Force after 22 years of dedicated service to our country. After retiring from the Air Force, among other endeavors, he retired from Northrup Grumman Aero Space. He was always working hard to support his family no matter the cost to him. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0120 in Ormand Beach, FL. We will remember him as having a heart of gold and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.  

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Freddie Luana Kimbler Collier, a grandson, Mitchell Lee Myles and a brother, Butch Maddy.

Survivors include his six children, William D. Collier, Jr. (Tammy), Alvin, TX, Robert Lee Collier (Debbie), Chesterfield, VA, Jerry Collier (Lili Maaele), Alvin, TX, John Allen Collier, (Christine), Holly Hill, FL, Patrice Michele Myles (Mark Lee), Cusseta, AL and Michael Shane Collier, Manvel, TX; a sister, Barbara "Babs" Boykin, Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, Curtis Wyman, Amber Collier Swint (Chris), Heather Collier (Tim), Samantha Wooten, Jerry Collier, Jr. (Chan), Christopher Jermain, Hunter Collier and Bailey Collier; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extend family also survive.
