Tyler Steven Smith, 28, of Salem, AL entered his heavenly home the morning of August 13, 2024.

 A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 PM (EST) on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Church on the Rock, 4 Crawford Church Road, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Chris Cloud officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, August 18th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N. Phenix City, AL. 

Tyler was born on January 5, 1996, to Gary Smith and the late Misty Edwards Smith. After high school, Tyler joined the United States Military where he served as an active-duty airborne infantryman for 5 years until reclassing to the reserves. Tyler had many achievements during his time serving his county including becoming a Ranger and receiving a global war on terrorism service medal, Afghanistan campaign medal with campaign star, and parachutist badge. During this time, he attended some college classes and was preparing to complete his degree before his tragic accident.

Tyler was a talented musician that connected with his fans through his emotion filled lyrics about life and Jesus. He ministered to many people in the community through his music, as a worship leader, and through Abel Ministries. Tyler was to be married to the love of his life, Savannah Kilburn. He loved spending time with his family, especially his sons, Eli ,Garrett, and Wyatt. 

 Tyler Smith is preceded by his mother, Misty Edwards Smith; grandmother, Jody Edwards; and great-grandparents, Alice and Ramey Welch and Catherine and Monroe Smith. 

 Tyler Smith is survived by his fiancé, Savannah Kilburn (Smith); father, Gary Smith (Crystal); sons, Eli Smith, Garrett Smith, and  Wyatt Holland; siblings, Garrett Smith, Sydney Smith, Bailey Edwards, Marcus De La Rossa, Dominique De La Rosa, and Stetson Alexander; grandfathers, Gary Smith (Deborah) and Darrel Edwards; step-mother, Deedre Rolands Smith; and mother of his children, Mallory Smith.
