Una Martha Stephens Vance

Una Martha Stephens Vance, 93, of Smiths Station, AL died peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 10, 2023 surrounded by loving family.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM (EST) on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Reverend Dr. Johnny Ellison officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 PM (EST) at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vance was born February 19, 1930 in Ozark, AL daughter of the late William Henry Stephens and Annie Belle Gales Stephens. She had retired from Toms Foods as a Packer after 36 years of service. Mrs. Vance was also an active member of First Assembly of God, Phenix City, AL for many years. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, hunting and eating BBQ, basically anything that involved spending time with her family. Mrs. Vance was a big Braves Baseball fan too. You never wondered what was on her mind as she spoke it clearly whether asked or not.  She was the rock our family’s foundation has been built on and it is still solid. We will miss her always, but never forget her.

Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Belle Stephens; husbands Richard Sellers, Lee Thompson and Charles Vance; siblings, Floyd, L. D., Ralph, and Howard Stephens, Dorothy Horne and Louise Tyler; sons, William “Billy” Hicks Sellers and Melvin Sellers and two grandchildren, Chris and Steve Sellers.

Survivors include her daughter, Marie Dawson, Smiths Station, AL and two step-sons, Larry and Donald Thompson; daughter-in-law, Patricia Sellers; six grandchildren, Angie Sellers Copeland (Eddie), Dean Dawson (Felicia), Bill Sellers (Jessica), Keith Dawson (Christy), Jason Sellers (Melinda) and Mark Dawson (Marsha); 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and three more on the way; several nieces, nephews and friends.
