Unchi Yi Anderson passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Newnan, GA. Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road in Columbus, GA. June, 7, 2015. A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home June, 8, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. EST. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson was born July, 20, 1974, in Dangjin, South Korea to Kyung Ha Yi and Chang Hui Yi Preinitz. Unchi proudly served as a Human Resource Specialist with the U.S. Army for 10 years. Upon leaving service Unchi achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Unchi received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Regis University. She was currently pursuing her Master's Degree. After being honorably discharged for service to her country she continued to serve Soldiers through employment with Army Community Services at Ft. Benning, GA. Unchi then continued her service at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas serving with the Children Youth Services. Unchi then returned to Ft. Benning, GA, to serve as a Human Resource Specialist with the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center. Unchi had a passion for serving others and her community through volunteer work with civilian and military Families. Unchi's selfless service led her to spend much of her time volunteering. Unchi took part in the yearly Army Family Action Plan which meets to discuss and provide recommendations to improve services for military Families and Soldiers. Through this work she directly impacted the lives of countless military Families she never knew. Unchi also volunteered much of her time educating young Army Families, educating them to ease the transition from civilian to military life. Unchi had a passion to give as much of her time as possible to help and serve others. Unchi had a passion for cooking and baking; especially for others to enjoy. She always opened her home to family, friends and co-workers so she knew they had a good meal for travels or to show them love through a home cooked meal. She was an avid runner and had a passion for fitness, and loved spending quality time with friends and family. Unchi is preceded in death by her father Carl Preinitz and Mother in Law Susie L. Anderson. She is survived by her husband Samford D. Anderson; two sons, Isaiah M. Anderson, and Dominique L. Anderson; one daughter Christina P. Anderson; mother, Chang Hui Yi Preinitz; four sisters, Unchu White, and husband Terry of Fremont, NC., Myung-ju Park, Joyce Bryan, and husband Ernie of Abingdon, MD, Unshil Hargraves, and husband John of Smithville, VA; one brother Unchoi Yi; Unchi is also survived by, father in law, Ronald T. Anderson, Sr. and wife Connie, of Centerville, OH; brother in laws, Ronald Anderson, Jr. and wife Odette, of Wichita Falls, TX, and Derrick Anderson and wife Tiphany, of Dayton, OH.
