Verda E. Brown, 81, Columbus, GA. Passed away Thursday, August 01, 2013 at her residence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 03, 2013, from 10:00 A.M. EST. The family will hold a private committal service following visitation. Verda E. Brown was born February 28, 1932 in Winfield, TN. Daughter to the late Asbel Taylor and Nannie Taylor. Verda was Baptist by faith and was a member of Bellwood Baptist Church. Other than her parents, Verda was preceded in death by the father of her children Edward Thomas; daughter, Cheryl Thomas; one sister and 5 brothers. Verda is survived by her loving husband Kelles Brown; daughter, Tamara Strunk, Nancy KY; two sons, Rodney Thomas (Glenda) of Linden, TN, and Doyle Thomas, of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Belva King, of Lexington, KY, and Lavern Turner, of Pineknot, KY; one brother Alvie Taylor of Goshen, OH; three grandchildren, Shaun Campbell, Tiffany Thomas, Samantha Thomas; one great- grandchild and three step great- grandchildren.
