Verna Ruth Harden, 86, of Dallas, GA formerly of Phenix City, AL died at her home Thursday, April 25, 2019.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Gerald Corbin.. A committal service will be held following the service in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harden was born September 17, 1932 in Pike, Co., AL daughter of the late J. D. Ming and Ethel Shepard Harden. She loved her home state of Alabama, often commenting on her trips back that the “air smelled better” as she smiled. We will remember her as a person who never met a stranger, person or animal. They just knew her sweet spirit and were drawn to her. She loved Jesus, her family and growing flowers. Her memories will forever fill our hearts.
Mrs. Harden was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Harden and two children, Toni Prater and James Edgar “Pete” Harden; a brother, Melvin Ming.
Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Wilson (Russell), Dallas, GA, grandson, Shane Prater (Judy), and son-in-law, Wayne Prater, several other family members and friends also survive.
