Versheal Wambles

Evangelist Versheal Ray Wambles, 89, of Phenix City, AL stepped through Heavens gates on Monday, March 14, 2022 with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM (EST) in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City on Friday, March 18, 2022 with Rev. Norman Garrison and Rev. John Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Wambles was born April 09, 1932 in Elba, AL son of the late John Henry Wambles and Sara Belle Hathaway Wambles. He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church where he worshiped with family and friends. Mr. Wambles loved to hold tent revivals where he enjoyed singing, playing and sharing the Gospel of Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. The legacy of love of God and family will continue to impact our family and the lives of those he touched for many years to come.
Mr. Wambles was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Ruth Anne and Caroline Sue Wambles.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty McCutcheon Wambles, Phenix City, AL; two sons, David Wambles (Kathy) and Sam Wambles (Beth) all of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Mary Carpenter; five grandchildren, Amanda (Josh), Chasity (Sean), Zack (Crystal), Dillion and Samantha; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
