Virginia Ann Benton Fowler

Virginia Ann Benton Fowler, 91, of Phenix City, AL died on Wednesday, March 05, 2025, while at Arabella Nursing Facility with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Monday, March 10, 2025 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fowler was born May 02, 1933, in Winfield, AL, daughter of the late John Luther Benton and Minnie Kathleen Dickinson Benton. She was a homemaker and former Dining Room Manager for Green Island Country Club, Columbus, GA. She was also a longtime member of Golden Acres Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL. Mrs. Fowler was also very active in the community. She was part of the Christian Women’s Association, past President of Columbus/Ft. Benning Shrine Club, former member of the Cataula Women’s Club and the Red Hat Club.

She was a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother on top of all the other activities she was part of in her life. We will miss her so much, and she is forever cherished in our hearts.

Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Benton; two brothers, John Arthur “Buddy” Benton, Jr. and James Walter Benton; two daughters, Kathryn Cecelia Fowler and Sharon Ann Fowler.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years, F. Dennis Fowler, Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Michael Dennis Tante (Shannon), Thomas “Tommy” Edward Tante, V (Turena), Aaron Michael Hunt and Denise Ann Daugherty Bates (David), 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
