Vivian Vann Brooks, 82, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 in Phenix City, AL. Graveside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery on Monday, January 25, 2016 beginning at 12:30 PM EST, with Pastor Lynn McManious officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, January 25, 2016 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon EST.
Vivian was born September 10, 1933 in Dothan, AL to the late Warren and Vergie Tindall Vann. She was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church. Vivian was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling.
Other than her parents, Vivian is predeceased by her husband, Billy E. Brooks, SR; daughter, Judy Ann Regan; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Bailey; great, great granddaughter, Rylynn Nicole Wood; and son-in-law, James R. Regan.
Survivors include a daughter: Linda Edge (Robert “Bobby”) of Phenix City, AL; three sons: Freddie W. Slaughter (Eddie) of Salem, AL; Brad Shivers of Smiths Station, AL; Billy E. Brooks (Brandy) of Phenix City, AL; one sister: Martha Bales of Orlando, FL; two brothers: James Sasnett of Dalesville, AL; Billy W. Sasnett of San Diego, CA; eighteen grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 11 great, great grandchildren.
Vivian also had one loving and faithful surviving friend, Octavia Jackson.
Pallbearers will be: Billy E. Brooks III, John A. Brooks, Jacob D. Brooks, Freddie W. Slaughter III, Raymond L. Mathis Jr., Gary Slaughter, Jeff Wood and Tim Wood.
