Vivian M. Curliss

Vivian Mildred Adkins Curliss, 72, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Thursday morning, July 14, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA.

Graveside services will be held 2:30 pm EDT on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. David Howle officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm EDT prior to service at the funeral home.  We would like to invite everyone who would like to attend the graveside service to meet at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City by 1:45 pm on Monday and leave in procession by 2:00 pm.

Mrs. Curliss was born September 19, 1943 in Finleyson, GA to the late James Herman Adkins and Lucy Mildred Christmas Adkins.  She was retired from Civil Service at Fort Benning, GA and was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church in Phenix City.  She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, attending sporting events with all her grandchildren, shopping, and she loved her pet dog, Susie Q.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Curliss.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Clifford Clyde Curliss of Phenix City, AL, her children, Denise Maddox of Phenix City, AL, Kenneth Earl Davis and wife Pam of Fort Mitchell, AL, Jr. Curliss of Lee County, AL, and Dee McIntyre and husband Mark of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Linda Allen and husband Wayne of Phenix City, AL, and a brother, Jerry Christmas of Detroit, MI, (7) grandchildren, Haley Smith (Troy), Blake Maddox, Niki Harris (John), Trevor Davis, Bryce Davis, Anastasia McIntyre, and Hannah McIntyre, (4) great grandchildren, Isabella, Bentley, Blakely, and Lilly, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many caring friends and her beloved pet Boston Terrier, Susie Q.  Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
