Walter Gerald Kite, 81, of Ft. Mitchell, AL died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
A Memorial Visitation hosted by the family will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM (EST) at Oswichee Baptist Church, Ft. Mitchell, AL. A private interment will be held at a later date in Oswichee Cemetery according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Kite was born December 1, 1942 in Columbus, GA son of the late Lester Kite and Elizabeth Moore Kite. He had retired from Pascoe Steel as a Draftsman after nearly 24 years. Mr. Kite was a member of Oswichee Baptist Church. He loved to do woodworking creating many beautiful pieces. He also enjoyed photography. To him it was not just snapping a photo, it was about the setting and the memory associated with each picture. We will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
Mr. Kite was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Elizabeth Kite; three brothers, Carl Kite, David Kite and Cecil Kite.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Linda Johnson Kite, Ft. Mitchell, AL; two children, Andrea Davis (Gary) and Brent Kite (Angie) all of Ft. Mitchell, AL; six grandchildren, Garrett Davis, Phillip Davis (Micayla), Jason Hall, Brandon Hall (Tiffani), Chelsea Smith (Allen) and Angel Kite; five great-grandchildren, Skyler Somers, Brianna Ellis, Hunter Hall, Kloie Hall and Tanner Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
