Walter Raymond Wiley, 87, of Allegan County, MI, passed away in the comfort of his daughter’s home in Smiths Station, AL Wednesday evening, January 17, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Wiley was born November 8, 1936, in Allegan County, MI, son of the late Walter Strickland Wiley and Erna Mary Ward Wiley.   He was employed by the Big Three and served as a supervisor in automobile manufacturing.  After retirement, he served as a faculty staff member at Lake Michigan College teaching engineering skills.  He served our country honorably and was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He enjoyed golf, fishing, the outdoors, and nature.  He loved spending time and sharing memories with all his family.  He was a huge fan of the University of Michigan supporting all sports activities, especially this year as the #1 Michigan Wolverines won the National Championship.  Mr. Wiley was a Christian and Baptist by faith.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings.

He is survived by the love of his life and companion, Carol Wiley of Smiths Station, AL; two daughters, Lyn Ayers and husband Angelo of St. Paul, MN, and Lisa Dezwaan and husband Colin of Smiths Station, AL; son, Greg Wiley of Smiths Station, AL; sister Norma Nienhuis of Michigan; three grandchildren, Jack Gruber, Tyler Wiley and Steve Wiley and wife Cheyanne; three great grandchildren, Penny, Emma and Spencer; several nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and many caring friends.

The family will be planning a memorial service in his home area of Allegan County, Michigan where there will be a special place of final rest.
