Wanda JoAnn Mancil, age 86, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Piedmont Midtown Columbus. Graveside services are scheduled at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery on November 30, 2020, 2 p.m.
Mrs. Mancil, daughter of the late Early Peters and Vassie Smith Peters, was born August 13, 1934 in Slocomb, Alabama. She was a homemaker and member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Phenix City, Alabama for over 25 years. Mrs. Mancil was a lady that always had a radiant smile and would light up a room. She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening, and was an active member of the Humane Society
Besides her parents, Mrs. Mancil was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Willie Joe Mancil; daughter, Deborah Ann Mancil; son, Danny Joe Mancil; 10 siblings; and many of her beloved extended family of dogs.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Gail Tafoya of Phenix City and Vikki Lynn Weigel and her husband Martin of Senoia, Georgia; one son, Larry Wayne Mancil of Phenix City; one sister, Irene Hanson of Dales, Wisconsin; one brother, Earl Peters, Jr. of Phenix City; two grandchildren, Versailles Debrianna Weigel and Patrick Clayton Mancil; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in her honor to your local Humane Society.
